Intercession Part 2

North Korea

History: 
  • 1945 the Japanese were defeated in WWII and Korea was divided at the 38th parallel
  • Soviet Union administered the North
  • Korean War started in 1950, ended in 1953 with basically no movement in the border.

Religion: 
  • Pyongyang was the center of Christian activity until 1945. 
  • 3,000 churches were demolished
  • 50,000-70,000 Christians were put in prison camps
  • Most pastors were killed or kicked out
  • North Korea has the most severe persecution of Christians in all the world.
