Current Fundraisers For YWAM Training
Cookie Mix Fundraiser:
I am selling Chocolate Chip Cookie Mixes.
They are $10 each and $5 for shipping (if not local).
These cookie mixes will make 2 dozen delicious chocolate chip cookies.
Leave a comment or message me if you are interested in purchasing one (or many) and I will get back to you about payment options.
Amazon Fundraiser:
A while back, I got approved to be an Amazon Associate! That means: I will get a portion of the proceeds from whatever you by on Amazon.com. BUT the only way it will work is if you GO THROUGH MY BLOG!
SO, I just added an Amazon.com search bar on the right side of my blog. (With the title "Support my through your purchases").
All you have to do is: put in whatever you are searching for and that will take you to Amazon.com. Then you just go on with your shopping as usual! It's that simple! It's only one extra step to help me out! Plus, it doesn't cost you anything extra! (Don't worry it's not going to tell me show my what you purchased or anything like that). :)
Please share my blog link with your friends and family so they can participate as well! Especially anyone you know who shops on Amazon a lot!
Stay tuned for more Fundraisers coming soon!
7 weeks before I head to Wisconsin! I can't believe how fast time is flying by! I have a lot of work to do before then!
If you would like to make a donation towards my YWAM training please use the "Donate" button at the top of my blog.
I am still in need of about $5,000 before December! I will only have to have my tuition cost ($3,350) by September 16th. But of course, I need to try to raise as much as possible by then so that I will have enough funds for Outreach (overseas).
Thanks so much friends!!

What God is teaching me...
So, this past week God was called me to make a really big financial sacrifice from the money I was saving for YWAM. Even though I wrestled with it for a week and kept saying "I can't do that!" He made sure it didn't leave my mind.
I couldn't rest until I had done it.
I had to obey.
It felt so great to finally do it and let go of the money I had worked so hard for. It wasn't my money in the first place, God had given it to me.
So now it was my turn to give it all back to Him. I have no doubt that He will bless me more now that I have followed through. He has already begun to bless me through it by bringing me closer to Him and speaking to me even through my unfaithfulness in spending time with Him.
I am so excited to see how it will happen. No, it may not be easy, comfortable, or simple, but I know it will all be for His glory, not mine. God is amazing and I am so thankful He chose me of all people to go along on this journey into missions. Now I have only a little more than 1/7th of what I need for my 6 months in YWAM, and I leave in only 76 days! So, I need to raise $5,500.
But I am not even going to focus on the numbers. I think that was what I was doing wrong before I gave it all away! I feel like I was getting some of the glory for the money that I had raised before, since I was so proud of the amount I was able to save. Now God wants all the glory! Maybe it will be that He want's me to completely rely on other people's donations? Or from fundraisers? I don't know, but I am excited to find out.
God all I want is for you to bring my closer to you through all of this!

The Story...
So, here's the story of how God lead me to YWAM...
When I lost my job (and also graduated college) back in August I really started to think about what was next for me. Even though losing my job was really hard, God was teaching me a lot through it. One of those things being I needed to focus on my next step for Him. Ever since I came back from Africa last year I knew I wanted to do more mission work. And I knew I wanted to do something more long term, because that's what I felt God leading me towards. So, as I was thinking about my next steps God suddenly put YWAM on my heart. I looked it up and got as much info as I could. I soon found a link to a "Children at Risk Discipleship Training School" that I really liked. I could not get it out of my mind! So, after thinking it over for a couple days, and trying to make a decision I finally decided to apply!
Then on November 5th, 2011 I was officially accepted!!
I was out with my sister at the mall when I looked down at my phone and saw that I had a new email. After seeing the title I knew I didn't want to open it just yet. I wanted to wait until I got home and was by myself so that I could focus on it.
It was an amazing moment reading the words:
"You have been accepted"!!!!
Praise God!
Next Year...
Next year (Jan 2013) I will be going overseas for my YWAM outreach! Not exactly sure which country I am going to, but we get to choose in September, once we have started our Children at Risk training and have seen a presentation on each country that our teams will be going to. So I will just have to see where God wants me! I am thinking Asia (Thailand or India), but it may just be my desires, not sure yet. I do not want this to be my decision! I only want it to be God's! For it's He that is sending me and giving me the strength, wisdom, and comfort to even do this at all. I don't want any part of this missionary training to be about me! Wow, that's good stuff, haha, I need to say that next time the Devil tries to discourage me with thoughts about things like: "Am I really doing this?", "Why am I leaving my awesome job, my awesome church, and my awesome family and friends?", "What have I gotten myself into?", "I'm going to miss my life too much", "This is going to be so uncomfortable", "I don't know anyone that I'm going to be spending 6 months with!", "There's no way I will get all that money!".... etc.
Well, guess what? IT'S NOT ABOUT ME!
It's about bringing glory to God, and being His hands and Feet, and showing His love to the world, and telling others about Him and how they can know Him. Period.
This scripture is on my wall and I think of it often when I ask myself: "Why me?" or "I can't do this!"
1 Timothy 1:12
"I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service."
And this one:
1 Thessalonians 5:24
"The One who calls you is faithful and HE will do it."
See, IT'S NOT ABOUT ME!
OK so now that I'm done preaching to myself, here is an amazing video that the past Children at Risk outreach teams put together showing the faces of risk around the world. This video really touched me, because this is where I will be next year! Please watch! Ahhhhh, I'm so excited!!!
